About Me
I believe in the importance of addressing structural inequities in the places where people are born, grow, live, learn, and work. These inequities cause barriers to individuals and communities, often prohibiting them from access to health-related resources. This belief led me to join the Public Health Master’s program at UNC Greensboro so that I could develop additional skills and strategies that would help me continue to be a part that important work.
In this program I have been able to apply my coursework directly into the field, synthesizing what I learned in the classroom in real time. For nearly a decade, and throughout most of the MPH program, I have been a Wellness Education Coordinator, promoting holistic health and wellness among young adults. Currently I am the Assistant Director of the Accessibility Resource Center at Guilford College where I work alongside students with disabilities addressing on campus access issues. I am also completing an internship with Well-Spring Solutions, a local provider of older adult services, as an evaluator conducting an employee health and wellness needs assessment.
